This year we are leaving prior to Christmas and will celebrate the birth of our Lord on the road to hopefully a warmer climate.
Since we were preparing to be gone, there is only a small Christmas tree in the window...
However, the big blue spruce in front of the house brought thoughts of Christmas cheer, all decorated and lit up and with the addition of a beautiful snow that arrived a couple weeks ago.
We are planning to go only as far as Arizona this year and sit in the sun...at least that is what I am planning.
Don is not likely to do so well with "just sitting in the sun." He needs to be on the go...which we will also do as I have found lots of things to go and see while we are there. (I am also planning on doing some just sitting. We will see how that works out.)
So now the RV is loaded, the Jeep hooked up, and we are ready to roll.
The next post will be about the Redwoods.

Heading south into California, we got a beautiful view of Mt. Shasta, with a few clouds covering the very top.
And then a really sad look at Shasta Lake whose levels are extremely low due to the long drought in California.
If you remember our other blogs of trips, we always have adventures as well as (sigh) a few mis-adventures. This time we did manage to make it all the way through "big, beautiful downtown Dorris, California" without a breakdown. Last year's breakdown there was quite enough, thank you.
Downtown Dorris, CA
Our first stop will be to drop the coach in Red Bluff, California and drive the Jeep over the mountains to the coast and see the giant redwoods. We had planned to do that last year, however we spent two days in Dorris instead which forced us to take the Redwoods off the schedule. The next post will be about the Redwoods.
